Riccardo Mascia AIA, OAA, LEED AP BD+C

Managing Principal
"We need to question convention and build on the seed of a good idea to transform it into a truly exceptional idea. The key is to then be relentless in pursuing the idea's implementation. That’s what I strive for every day.”

Riccardo is responsible for the strategic direction, operations and overall performance of HOK’s Chicago studio. He leads a team of architects, urban designers, landscape architects and interior designers who work collaboratively to solve complex problems with beauty and elegance. As an architect, he promotes a holistic approach that brings interdisciplinary thinking and imagination to every design opportunity.

Since joining HOK in 1995, Riccardo has held positions of increasing responsibility, leading to his appointment to the firm’s board of directors in 2001 and to its executive committee in 2010. His design and leadership positions in Mexico City, Madrid, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Chicago have given him a wide range of experiences in the world’s most dynamic markets.
