HOK designs buildings and spaces that inspire people. We’re a diverse team of innovative, entrepreneurial people with an ambitious vision: to create the world’s best, most sustainable places. It will be your responsibility, even as the newest member of our team, to help us make a positive impact on the world. If this sounds good, let’s talk.
People at HOK
Basically, if you have the ambition, passion and drive to develop your skills and grow your career, HOK will support you. I have worked on and managed large and influential projects across the world. I’m proud of my achievements to date at HOK and looking forward to many more to come!
My HOK mentors have propelled my success. Through them I’ve learned about teamwork, leadership, empathy and design excellence. Now, as a leader myself, I’m passionate about mentoring and providing others with opportunities to grow their careers and fuel their passion for design.
What led me back to HOK were the consistency in design quality, collaborative environment, and trust it places in its employees. Although a large firm, HOK has an entrepreneurial spirit that allows people to chart new paths that grow their careers and—in so doing—grow HOK. For me, that has meant helping launch HOK’s Seattle office in 2008 and then pursuing a dream of mine to work internationally in Hong Kong for four years before returning to the U.S. to help grow our Texas practice.
After a six-year hiatus with other firms, I’m now back in my hometown of Seattle and couldn’t be happier to rejoin my original HOK team. It’s both familiar and new, and I’m excited to see where we take it next.

Wherever you are in your career, HOK provides opportunities to learn, develop and apply your talents at the highest level.
You’ll be exposed to a huge cross section of domestic and international projects—for the world’s best, most forward-thinking clients—and feel empowered to make meaningful contributions.
HOK provides a robust framework for professional development. This includes a structured onboarding process, a wide variety of mentoring opportunities, studio design reviews, construction site visits, lunch-and-learn programs, Ask Me Anything leadership conversations, training that counts toward continuing education units and payment for professional licensure exams and memberships. A rotating emerging talent program provides opportunities for young leaders to participate on HOK’s core boards.

We’re committed to integrating diversity and inclusion principles into our hiring, our design processes and the physical environments we create.
Our Diversity Advisory Council works with firm leadership to promote an inclusive business environment and a culture where people with varied backgrounds, perspectives, skills and experience can succeed. This commitment to diversity translates into our designs that incorporate divergent viewpoints to create spaces as inclusive as they are unique.
HOK is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply, regardless of race, color, sex, gender identity, genetic information, religion, age, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or sexual orientation.
HOK participates in the federal E-Verify program.

If you thrive on new challenges, are among the best and brightest in your field, and want to make important contributions to real-life design projects, we encourage you to apply for a student internship with HOK.
Our interns can work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year. All internships are paid. Depending on your school’s curriculum, academic credit may be available.

Internships are available in architecture, interior design, engineering, planning, sustainable design, marketing and other disciplines across our global studios. These internship opportunities vary by location, with all available positions posted on our current openings pages: global and U.K.

HOK invests in our people. We’ve designed a holistic benefits package intended to help you live your best life.
We offer a competitive salary; health and wellness plans; opportunities to save for retirement; paid time off; professional development opportunities through in-house training and financial support for taking professional exams; a bonus for professional licensure; reimbursement for the cost of joining a professional organization and maintaining licensure fees; and community volunteer opportunities. Each studio hosts a variety of ongoing team building events.
