Paul Harrison

Design Principal

As design principal for HOK’s Canadian practice, Paul brings a multidisciplinary approach to architecture that blends computational design, advanced building technologies and a deep understanding of architectural history. His expertise spans education, healthcare, research and civic projects, where he leads the design of human-centered spaces that integrate sustainability and resilience as core principles.

Paul has been recognized for his contributions to the field through multiple industry awards, including honors from Fast Company, Architizer, Canadian Architect and The Architect’s Newspaper. With a background in both architecture and mechanical engineering, he deploys bespoke AI and generative design techniques to model and enhance the built environment. His thought leadership extends to academia, where he serves as an assistant professor at the University of Toronto.

A frequent speaker and published author on the interfaces between AI, design computation and architectural tradition, Paul continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the evolving landscape of design.
