Doug Barraza AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C

Doug leads HOK’s Sports + Recreation + Entertainment practice in Kansas City. Over 35 years, he has designed award-winning projects including master plans, stadiums and arenas, athletic training facilities, and recreation and wellness centers nationwide.

Doug’s deep experience in collegiate environments includes working collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups ranging from university administrators and athletic and recreation directors to coaches, students and community partners. He guides visioning workshops that translate program goals into flexible, high-performance environments that enhance the overall student experience.

His broad market knowledge and relationships, informed by presenting at Athletic Business, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and NIRSA – Leaders in Collegiate Recreation conferences, help clients create projects for future success while elevating fan and player experiences today.
