Maren Moegel LEED AP, PMP

Regional Leader of Planning

Maren leads HOK’s Planning group across the western United States. Based in San Francisco, she has more than 25 years of experience delivering large-scale, complex planning and urban design projects throughout the U.S., Europe, Central America and the Middle East. Her portfolio includes mixed-use and transit-oriented developments, urban residential, as well as cultural destinations, entertainment and innovation districts, that drive long-term value for communities. 

Maren partners closely with developers, municipalities and multidisciplinary teams to shape inclusive, resilient places that balance growth, livability and environmental performance. Her approach integrates community engagement, placemaking and strategic design to reflect local culture while supporting investment, mobility and public life. 

An active contributor to the planning and urban design profession, Maren is a member of the San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association and KIT Link, a transatlantic collaboration between the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the San Francisco Bay Area. She frequently serves as a guest speaker, studio and thesis reviewer at UC Berkeley’s urban design program and has co-led a planning workshop at the Bauhaus summer school.
