HOK has named Peter Glasson design principal for its Southeast U.S. practice based in Washington, D.C.; Maren Moegel as regional leader of Planning based in San Francisco; and Alex Burkholder as practice leader for the Seattle studio.
The appointments strengthen HOK’s ability to serve clients across the U.S. through design leadership, planning expertise and operational excellence.
Peter Glasson, AIA, NCARB, is the design principal for HOK’s Southeast U.S. practice, leading the design direction for the Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Tampa and Miami studios. He guides multidisciplinary teams in delivering sustainable, design-forward solutions that transform client vision into built reality.
Glasson is known for his collaborative approach with clients and project teams to create authentic, context-driven environments. His award-winning portfolio spans federal courthouses, justice centers, governmental headquarters, commercial offices, advanced manufacturing campuses, transit-oriented developments and complex transportation projects, including Brightline Miami Central and Denver Union Station. He has also designed academic facilities for the U.S. Air Force Academy and U.S. Naval Academy.
Maren Moegel, LEED AP, PMP, leads HOK’s Planning group across the western United States. With more than 25 years of experience, she brings diverse stakeholder groups together to develop planning strategies that reflect local culture while supporting vibrant communities.
Her portfolio includes mixed-use and transit-oriented developments, urban residential areas, cultural destinations, and entertainment and innovation districts in the U.S., Europe, Central America and the Middle East. She is a member of the San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association and KIT Link, a collaboration between the San Francisco Bay Area and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. She also serves as a guest speaker, studio and thesis reviewer at UC Berkeley’s urban design program.
Alex Burkholder, PMP, DBIA Associate, is the practice leader for HOK’s Seattle studio, where he oversees operations, business development and strategic growth initiatives. Recognized for his collaborative team approach, he has created sustainable design solutions across the Pacific Northwest and Western U.S. Coast.
Burkholder’s project experience includes transportation and mobility initiatives, wayfinding systems and large-scale placemaking. His clients have included Sound Transit, San Francisco International Airport, Adobe, T-Mobile, Starbucks, the City of Bellevue and the Seattle Mariners. He is an active ally member of WTS International and NOMA Northwest.
