Amy Chesterton AICP

Regional Leader of Planning

Amy is the regional leader of Planning in HOK’s Detroit studio. She leads complex urban planning projects of all sizes to create vibrant, sustainable communities. Her projects span mixed-use districts, real-estate developments, neighborhoods, urban infill and adaptive reuse.

Amy’s creative, grounded approach and institutional knowledge of regional leadership and policies ensure plans are implementable and achievable. As a strong advocate for community engagement, Amy solicits a range of ideas and voices from all stakeholders to inform design decisions and bolster support for her clients’ vision.

Active in the design community, Amy is a member of the American Planning Association and the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) local and regional product councils as well as ULI’s Women’s Leadership Commission. She is the board chair for The War Memorial, a historic waterfront landmark and museum outside of Detroit.
