Robert Hewer AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, CDT

Practice Leader

Robert Hewer is a principal and practice leader in HOK’s Detroit studio specializing in sports, entertainment and mixed-use developments. With more than 25 years of experience, he has led the planning, design and delivery of elite training facilities, stadium renovations, competition venues, premium hospitality spaces and destination developments.

His portfolio includes work for the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, NASCAR raceways across the United States, the Miami Open, Indian Wells, and NFL organizations including the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions.

Equally skilled as a designer and technical leader, Robert combines strategic vision with a deep understanding of construction, operations and building systems. He is known for guiding complex projects from concept through occupancy, helping clients balance innovation, functionality, revenue generation and long-term operational success.

Throughout his career, Robert has partnered with owners, operators, teams and governing organizations to navigate complex challenges and deliver facilities that strengthen brands, elevate experiences and create lasting value. His collaborative approach and broad industry perspective allow him to develop solutions that support athletes, teams, operators and fans alike.
