Chris serves two vital roles within HOK. As managing principal of the Kansas City studio, he draws on his more than two decades of experience to collaborate with clients and lead design teams on projects throughout the Midwest. As the sustainable design leader for the Sports + Recreation + Entertainment practice, Chris helps advance the way the profession approaches the planning, design, construction and operations of sports venues. He’s also a member of HOK’s board of directors and management and marketing boards.
A frequent speaker and author on green sports facilities, Chris believes the visibility and accessibility of arenas, stadiums and ballparks offer an opportunity to teach people about sustainable design. He shares his knowledge and time with numerous industry and philanthropic organizations including the Green Sports Alliance, USGBC and Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey. Chris is a fellow and lecturer at Presidio Graduate School’s MBA course on sports and sustainability and a graduate of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce’s Centurions Leadership Program.
