HOK Announces New Directors of Design for Interiors in Boston and London

Marianne Weiss and Alia Centofanti have joined the firm as new design directors for Interiors in the Boston and London studios, respectively.

Marianne Weiss, IIDA, LEED AP, is leading the Interiors practice in HOK’s new Boston studio, which opened earlier this year. Known for her dynamic and collaborative design approach, Weiss excels at working with clients and project teams to create spaces that are as beautiful as they are functional and efficient. Her extensive experience spans the corporate, hospitality, wellness, entertainment and higher education markets, with a client portfolio that includes Disney, Reebok, Caesars Entertainment and Equinox. Her design work has been highly praised for demonstrating new thinking, innovation and problem-solving. She is also known for advancing sustainable design, diversity, equity and inclusion in the built environment.

Alia Centofanti has recently joined HOK as the director of design for Interiors in London. Centofanti’s architectural and interior design journey spans more than two decades, during which she has gained extensive experience in the hotel and commercial sectors. She has managed a diverse range of projects across the U.K., Europe, Dubai, the U.S. and Russia. Her collaborations with industry giants such as IHG, Marriott, Hilton, Almacantar and Grosvenor, as well as other prominent clients in the UAE, underscore her significant reach and influence in the industry. Centofanti’s design ethos is defined by a holistic approach that blends science and aesthetics with a firm belief that design must be experiential, experimental and purposefully oriented toward its objectives.

Tom Polucci, the global director of Interiors for HOK, expressed his excitement about the new appointments, saying, “Both Marianne and Alia bring a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to our team. Marianne’s innovative and sustainable design approach, coupled with her commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, will be instrumental in shaping the future of our Boston studio. Alia’s extensive experience in the U.K. and worldwide, along with her holistic design ethos, will undoubtedly enrich our London studio. Their appointments mark a significant step forward in our global Interiors practice, and I am thrilled to welcome them to HOK.”
