Alia Centofanti

Director of Design, Interiors
"All design must come from an origin, a sense of being, a memory of place; it must be authentic, innovative and successful and requires careful attention to the alchemy of process. Design is not therefore a jumble sale of ideas, it is purposeful, iterative and requires knowledgeable curation."

Alia is a principal and the director of design for Interiors in HOK’s London studio. Born in London with family roots in Buenos Aires and Virginia, her diverse cultural background and professional experiences in Chicago, New York and London shape her pluralistic and collaborative approach to design.

With an architectural and interior design journey spanning more than two decades, Alia has gained extensive experience in the hotel and commercial sectors, managing a diverse range of projects across the U.K., Europe, Dubai, the U.S. and Russia. Her collaborations with industry giants such as IHG, Marriott, Hilton, Almacantar and Grosvenor, as well as other prominent clients in the UAE, underscore her significant reach and influence in the industry.

Alia’s design ethos is defined by a holistic approach that blends science and aesthetics. She believes that for a design to reach its full potential, it must be experiential, experimental and purposefully oriented toward its objectives.
