Tom Kaczkowski, AIA, LEED GA, is HOK’s director of lighting design.
Tom’s goal is to create lighting solutions that provide the most appropriate visual environment for the client’s specific tasks, activities and budget. His interior and exterior lighting design solutions are architecturally appropriate while maximizing energy efficiency and remaining sensitive to long-term maintenance issues.
“We’re very conscious of the amount of energy produced from light sources, the overall environmental footprint. For most buildings, 20 to 40 percent of the energy consumption is from lighting. Our goal is to deliver the optimal amount of light with the least amount of energy.”
