William Mitchell OAA, LEED AP

Bill serves as principal-in-charge for the Centre Block Rehabilitation in Ottawa, leading HOK’s design team in the expansion, conservation and modernization of Canada’s primary parliamentary building. In this role, he provides overall leadership to a large, multidisciplinary team, ensuring design excellence, stakeholder alignment and seamless coordination within a complex heritage and high-security environment.
A senior principal at HOK, Bill is a registered architect with nearly 40 years of experience spanning architecture and workplace planning, design and management. He has served as global account manager for major clients including TD Bank, RBC, Morgan Stanley, BlackRock, Capital One and Nokia, aligning real estate strategies with business objectives to deliver high-performance, efficient environments.
Bill has been with HOK for over 29 years and played a key role in establishing the firm’s Ottawa office and building its global Space Management practice integrating full HOK service delivery for many financial services and technology clients. He most recently served as marketing principal for HOK’s Canada practice.
