Royal Caribbean Group broke ground on its new office campus in Miami-Dade County.

The South Florida-based cruise giant hosted a ceremony February 1 at PortMiami for its new 10-story, 380,000-sq.-ft. headquarters building.

Royal Caribbean’s PortMiami campus as a whole is being redeveloped, including updates to current office buildings and the addition of a new multi-level parking garage.

“Our new headquarters pays homage to our maritime heritage and represents a commitment to providing all of you, our valued employees, with a dynamic and inspiring work environment,” said Royal Caribbean President and CEO Jason Liberty. “Taking a cue from our industry leading ships, this building is designed to immerse us in the dynamic Miami skyline and the vibrant community that’s around us.”

HOK designed the new headquarters building, which will sit between Royal Caribbean’s corporate buildings at 1050 Caribbean Way and 1080 Caribbean Way.

The cruise operator also will build new amenities for its workforce of 3,000 South Florida-based employees, including green spaces, gyms and dry cleaning.
