Skytrax announced the winners of its annual World Airport Awards, aka, “the Passenger’s Choice Awards,” on March 27 at the Passenger Terminal Expo in London.
The international air transport rating agency named two HOK-designed airports among the world’s best. Results are based on Skytrax surveys of airport customers from more than 100 nationalities across the globe.
Doha’s Hamad International Airport (above) placed No. 4 overall. It also was ranked as the best airport in the 30-40 million passengers per year category and, for the fifth consecutive year, was named best airport in the Middle East.
Skytrax rated Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya, Japan, as the world’s sixth best airport and the world’s top airport in the 10-20 million passengers per year category. The joint venture project team included HOK, Nikken Sekkei, Azusa Sekkei and Ove Arup.
