World Trade Center Chennai

Chennai, India

This iconic development includes more than 1.8 million square feet of premium office, residential and retail space. The 16-acre site offers high visibility and accessibility from the region’s thriving IT corridor.

Guided by rigorous environmental analytics, the two towers’ massing and facades fuse aesthetics and performance. Both are oriented to minimize east-west solar exposure. Use of linear terra-cotta panels emphasizes the verticality of the buildings while shading the structure and reducing solar loads. The panels, which vary in width and depth, are limited to 10 unique modules to control costs. Abundant glazing accentuates views of the Bay of Bengal.

A clear separation between commercial and residential zones creates a sheltered residential district that provides an oasis of calm amid the hustle of daily urban life.

The elevated podium plazas include an amphitheater, retail space, restaurants and a clubhouse. Parks activated by the lush landscape encourage pedestrian movement between the towers.
