Stryker Canada Headquarters

Toronto, Ontario

Stryker, a leading medical technology company, sought a new Canadian headquarters to consolidate three existing offices and provide a best-in-class work environment. The company’s drive to make healthcare better shaped HOK’s design of a workplace that promotes employee health, wellness and productivity.

The plan places workstations around the perimeter of the building to ensure access to natural light. Biophilic elements such as natural wood, green walls and plants connect Stryker’s people to nature and improve indoor air quality. A gym, outdoor patio and desks equipped with sit-stand capabilities enhance the building’s health and wellness offerings.

Fluid circulation pathways through the building echo the natural rhythm of the heartbeat. Various work settings are designed to spur specific moods. Dramatic dark ceilings and bold wall graphics help stimulate energy and performance in collaboration areas. Softer social spaces incorporate lighter tones that lower the pulse and create a more relaxed atmosphere.

Designed to WELL Building Standards for promoting the health and well-being of building occupants, Stryker’s new headquarters is also on track to achieve LEED Gold certification for environmental sustainability.
