IGM Financial Office

IGM Financial wanted its Toronto workplace to be more responsive to modern needs and more reflective of the company’s culture and brand. Working with IGM stakeholders, HOK led visioning sessions to develop updated goals for the office and a design solution to carry it into the future.

Spanning 12 floors of a downtown tower, the transformed office embraces a modern, hybrid workplace strategy. Employees and guests enter each floor through a central café. Borrowing elements from hospitality design, these warm and inviting entryways offers a relaxed environment where connections can take place over food and drink.

Recognizing that not everyone works the same way, the office features a variety of work settings, including a library and other spaces of reprieve designed for focused work.

Health and well-being are top of mind in the re-designed office with abundant natural light, sit-stand desks and wellness rooms for meditation and quiet reflection.

Layered through the design are materials that prioritize sustainability and circularity while providing the office a warm, residential feel. An Indigenous art program speaks to IGM’s Canadian heritage and culture of celebrating diversity and inclusion.
