The 11-story Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion (AHSP) breaks down traditional boundaries by combining world-class research, patient care, clinical offices, physician education and training in one building. By uniting researchers and clinicians in the same facility, Cedars-Sinai seeks to bridge the gap between discovery and patient care. With its high-tech sensibility and sleek transparency, the design communicates the synergy of science and healthcare at the heart of this specialized facility.
Placing research labs on the top two floors, above the clinical settings, enables physician-scientists to more easily apply discoveries to medical care. The flexible building houses translational research labs as well as outpatient Centers of Excellence, clinical functions and outpatient procedure centers. A plaza level features an educational center, café, pharmacy, blood lab and imaging facilities.
The design of the LEED Gold certified building features materials that are environmentally friendly and energy-efficient. Daylight enhances well-being and provides a sense of openness.
Located on a public edge of the Cedars-Sinai campus adjacent to the primary circulation spine, the Health Sciences Pavilion creates a new symbolic entry to the medical campus.
