Brian Johnson PE

Senior Project Engineer
“Building simulation, parametric design, and data analysis are reshaping the way we design and operate our buildings. We have an unbelievable amount of information available at our fingertips to inform efficient, healthy, and comfortable buildings no matter the challenge.”

Brian is a senior project engineer and leader of HOK’s building energy modeling group. While based in HOK’s San Francisco studio, Brian works on projects across the firm to improve building energy performance, reduce operational carbon emissions, and enhance thermal comfort through analytical, collaborative, and sustainable design strategies.

Brian’s unique background in HVAC design, construction administration, and whole building energy modeling has supported many of HOK’s largest and most complicated projects around the globe. He is a licensed professional engineer in multiple U.S. states and an ASHRAE certified building energy modeling professional. He brings a data-driven approach to building design that is based in analysis and simulation no matter the building size or type.
