Belinda Young Named HOK’s Regional Leader of Healthcare in San Francisco

Belinda Young, AIA, LEED BD+C, Assoc. DBIA, has been promoted to regional leader for HOK’s Healthcare practice in Northern California.

Based in the firm’s San Francisco studio, she brings more than 25 years of experience at HOK designing and leading complex healthcare projects throughout California.

In her new role, Young will lead HOK project teams, guide strategy, mentor staff and collaborate with other regional leaders to position for and pursue new work in California.

“Belinda is a proven leader with an exceptional ability to organize and guide teams in delivering impactful healthcare projects,” said Scott Rawlings, a director of HOK’s Healthcare practice. “Her expertise with the design process, combined with her unwavering commitment to clients and communities, make her an invaluable asset to both our firm and the profession.”

Some of Young’s notable projects in California include Stanford Medicine Children’s Health Specialty Services Center in Sunnyvale; the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford Maternity Unit in Palo Alto; the UC San Francisco Center for Reproductive Health; Dignity Health Saint Francis Memorial Hospital Emergency Department Expansion and Surgery Remodel in San Francisco; and several recent projects for Kaiser Permanente including the Roseville Inpatient Bed Tower Expansion, the Roseville Riverside Medical Offices and the South Sacramento Emergency Department Expansion in Sacramento.

Young holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University and bachelor’s degrees in urban studies and human biology from Stanford University. She is actively involved with the American Institute of Architects, the Lean Construction Institute and the Design-Build Institute of America.
