The new leader will support the firm’s Sustainable Design practice.
Meng Gong, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, FITWEL, has joined HOK as the regional leader of Sustainability. “Meng is a leader in sustainability,” said Anne Fletcher, AIA, LEED AP, managing principal of the Los Angeles studio. “As our work in the Los Angeles office continues to grow, her experience and collaborative nature will be invaluable to our team and clients. We’re excited to welcome them to HOK to strengthen our thriving practice.”
Gong is an expert in sustainable design, lighting design and performance services. She has more than 10 years of experience in net zero energy strategies and building life-cycle assessments, as well as LEED, WELL and Fitwel certifications. Gong regularly collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects in the healthcare, higher education, hospitality, corporate, residential, retail and entertainment markets. Her work has received several awards of merit from the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).
Active in the design community, Gong is a member and board judge of the IES and a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers. She also serves as a lecturer on sustainability and the built environment at California State University, Long Beach.
