Riccardo Mascia, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been named managing principal of HOK’s Chicago office.
Mascia is responsible for the strategic direction and overall performance of the practice. He joins HOK’s leadership team in Chicago, which includes Peter Ruggiero, AIA, design principal, Dan Sullivan, AIA, marketing principal, and Lou Oswald, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, technical principal.
The Chicago native is relocating from Hong Kong, where he served as managing director of HOK’s Asia Pacific offices. Since joining HOK in 1995, Mascia also has held leadership and design positions in Mexico City, Madrid, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He was appointed to the firm’s board of directors in 2001 and to its executive committee in 2010.

Mascia holds a Master of Architecture from UCLA’s Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Iowa State University of Science and Technology.
