James Vandezande, AIA, is the director of design technology at HOK and a member of the technical board. He helps lead HOK’s buildingSMART initiatives and is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency in the firm’s design and delivery processes.
James serves on the leadership committee for AGC BIMForum and has lectured at many industry events, including Autodesk University, CMAA BIM Conference, ENR FutureTech and the AIA National convention. Based in New York, he is the founder of the NYC Revit Users Group and is an adjunct lecturing professor at New York University. James has also fulfilled leadership roles in the development of both the National BIM Standard-US (NBIMS) and the Level of Development (LOD) Specification, which stand to drive vast process improvements throughout the building industry.
James has authored a series of technical books titled Mastering Autodesk Revit Architecture.
