Stanford Children’s Health Specialty Services Center Wins IIDA Healthcare Award

The Stanford Children’s Health Specialty Services Center has won a national IIDA Healthcare award in the ambulatory pediatric category.

“Commercial interior designers play a critical role in the healthcare industry, providing evidence-based solutions that contribute to positive patient outcomes and the well-being of caregivers and healthcare employees,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “This year’s winners exemplify exceptional healthcare design that puts patients and their caregivers at ease while creating positive, healing environments.”

The Stanford Children’s Health Specialty Services Center specializes in pediatric care, including adolescent health, behavioral medicine, urology, dermatology, pulmonary, orthopedics, imaging and physical therapy. It includes an on-site reproductive endocrinology and infertility clinic.

HOK designed the center to provide patients with easy access to the highest quality of care. Vibrant colors and materials alleviate the anxieties of pediatric patients, positively engage families and create a unique branded environment. Family-friendly waiting areas feature colorful artwork, beanbag cushions, and comfortable couches and chairs.
