Lyla Restaurant

Lyla is an upscale Mediterranean restaurant located in Toronto’s dynamic Queen West neighborhood. The restaurant’s ownership engaged HOK to design an interior experience that reflects the exotic, old-world charm of its signature dishes and cocktails.

Lyla means “night beauty” in Arabic, and HOK’s design builds on that theme through the use of color, texture, luxe fabrics and lighting. Moody undertones of navy and maroon meld with sandy stone finishes and earthy reds characteristic of the Mediterranean. Brass accents and bespoke statement lighting imbue the space with a warm, soft glow.

The restaurant offers flexibility for both fine dining and casual socializing. Intentional planning went into creating various dining and lounge zones, including a private dining room, a cocktail lounge, and a terrace patio that allow patrons to enjoy a unique experience with each visit.
