Cristina Ungureanu AICP

Regional Leader of Planning
“My approach to solving complex urban challenges is rooted in spatial justice and a critical understanding of the cultural, socioeconomic, historical and ecological factors that shape our cities.”

Cristina Ungureanu is the regional leader of Planning for the Los Angeles studio.

Her multidisciplinary experience in planning, urban design and creative placemaking allows her to work across scales and environments. Cristina is an accomplished leader in entitlement planning and the visioning of mixed-use districts, post-industrial campus repositioning, streetscape activation strategies, framework planning for cultural institutions and leveraging collaborative community processes.

Cristina has a deep curiosity about cities, fed by her childhood in Bucharest and Vancouver, and her work in New Orleans, New York City and Los Angeles. She is a lecturer in Urban and Regional Planning at Cal Poly Pomona and a board member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Planning Association.
