Apoorv Goyal LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, Associate AIA

Based in New York, Apoorv leads HOK’s firmwide decarbonization practice. He brings 15 years of experience advancing decarbonization strategies and high-performance building design across global real estate portfolios. His expertise spans carbon analytics, building performance modeling and scalable net‑zero strategies that help organizations reduce emissions while improving operational efficiency.
His portfolio includes major projects for LaGuardia Airport, JFK International Airport Terminal 6, LG, Penn State University, MIT and Amazon. Working across airports, laboratories, corporate campuses, stadiums and institutional facilities, he helps clients and project teams make informed decisions about carbon emissions and energy use through optimized building performance and materials choices. His work includes developing carbon benchmarks, sustainability frameworks and analysis tools that support early design decisions. Prior to joining HOK, he led decarbonization analytics and strategy for Amazon’s global portfolio of logistics facilities, where he developed enterprise‑scale products to automate and scale carbon analytics across more than 2,000 warehouses worldwide.
Apoorv has presented at Greenbuild, ASHRAE, New York Build and Microsol conferences on building performance modeling, facade optimization and high-performance design. He is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and previously served in leading capacities for the International Building Performance Simulation Association’s New York Chapter, AIA New York’s Committee on the Environment and the AIA 2030 Working Group.
