HOK is proud to be part of the team supporting the delivery of the ground-breaking National Biosecurity Centre (NBC) in Weybridge for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
HOK and WSP are providing expertise across multiple disciplines to transform the existing site into a state-of-the-art diagnostics and research hub, which will enhance the UK’s capabilities in safeguarding animal health for the benefit of people, the environment and the economy.
“This transformative design for the Animal and Plant Health Agency’s laboratories at Weybridge marks a critical step in strengthening the UK’s biosecurity infrastructure,” said Brian Connolly, regional leader of Science + Technology in HOK’s London studio. “By revitalising this historic site with resilient and future-ready facilities, the project supports national efforts to detect, manage, and mitigate high-risk animal and zoonotic diseases. It ensures the UK remains at the forefront of global disease surveillance and response, safeguarding public health, food security, and the economy.”
