Leslie Ashor Joins HOK’s Science + Technology Leadership Team

Leslie Ashor, AIA, LEED AP, has joined HOK in San Francisco as a senior principal and firm-wide director of Science + Technology (S+T).

Ashor, a registered architect in California, will be based in HOK’s San Francisco studio and work on projects worldwide. She joins Randy Kray, AIA, and Timothy O’Connell, AIA, as directors of the firm’s global S+T group.

A recognized leader in the sector, Ashor has dedicated the past two decades to research and laboratory facilities. She has led the lab planning, programming and design for more than 150 projects, including several R&D Magazine “Lab of the Year” award winners.

“We are thrilled to welcome Leslie to HOK. She brings creative problem solving and international expertise on lab design and sustainability solutions,” said Bill Hellmuth, FAIA, HOK chairman and CEO. “She has a unique ability to translate the language of science into innovative design solutions.”

Ashor has spoken at dozens of worldwide conferences and authored numerous articles and reports. She is a member of the Architectural Board of the Scientific Equipment and Furniture Association (SEFA), the International Institute for Sustainable Labs (I2SL), Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Australian Institute of Architects (AIA). She earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University.
