These Are Unsettling, Disturbing Times

We stand with our Black colleagues, employees, partners and clients. We stand with our friends at the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA). We stand with all communities of color and all moral people in condemning racism, racist behavior and all abuse of power.

At HOK’s core is a desire to serve humanity—to design for positive change. Now, in the midst of a global pandemic, the U.S. is faced with an unprecedented crisis triggered by systemic racism. Our cities are burning. People need help, both in surviving today and in building a sustainable future.

We call on our colleagues across the world to join us in advocating for equality. We must promote diversity in our profession. We must design equitable public spaces and cities where we all can come together as communities and exercise our democratic rights. We must design for change.
