The Stanford Children’s Health Specialty Services Center in Sunnyvale, California, is a unique outpatient facility that expands access to dedicated care for children, adolescents and couples facing fertility issues.
The clinic specializes in pediatric care, including adolescent health, behavioral medicine, urology, dermatology, pulmonary, orthopedics, imaging and physical therapy. It includes an on-site reproductive endocrinology and infertility clinic.
HOK designed the center to provide patients with easy access to the highest quality of care. Standardized clinic modules and exam rooms promote collaboration between specialties and the delivery of integrated care. The flexible space plan reduces wait times for appointments, as patients can be examined and treated in a single location. The integrated care experience improves patient access to social workers, nutritionists and on-site interpreters.
The clinic’s vibrant colors and materials are designed to alleviate the anxieties of pediatric patients, positively engage families and create a unique branded environment that sets the standard for Stanford’s future outpatient facilities. Family-friendly waiting areas feature colorful artwork, beanbag cushions and comfortable couches and chairs.
