Rejuvenating Campus Buildings: Preserving Historic Legacy through Adaptive Reuse

HOK’s Daniel Niewoehner and Morgan Daenzer will present a session at the Society for Colleges and University Planning’s North Central 2025 Regional Conference on the challenges and opportunities in adaptively reusing historic campus buildings.

The session will explore how to preserve the legacy of historic campus buildings while meeting contemporary academic needs. Through case studies, Daniel and Morgan will share evaluation tools and planning insights that help campuses identify underused assets, optimize existing infrastructure and revitalize these iconic structures.
