HOK’s Anica Landreneau will co-lead the seminar “A Tale of Two Cities: Transforming NYC + DC with Building Performance Standards” at the NOMA Conference.
Buildings represent 50-70% of greenhouse gas emissions in most cities, yet improving building efficiency is difficult as most cities only replace 1-2% of their building stock every year. Washington, D.C., and New York City have passed stringent new climate regulations focused on elevating the performance of existing buildings to meet their climate targets. Panelists will discuss how these policies address existing building performance, how they can transform cities and the role architects can play in helping clients plan improvements.
