IUHMC: the First of the New Medical Centers

Looking to the future of medicine, the Indiana University Health system, which is linked to the Indiana University School of Medicine, is planning the consolidation and replacement of two current high-acuity hospitals into a new academic medical center in Indianapolis. The quaternary care facility for inpatient and outpatient services creates a new model of clinical care—one that is flexible adaptable for change in an uncertain future.

As part of the 2021 PDC Summit, HOK Director of Healthcare Paul Strohm will join a panel including Indiana University Health’s Jim Mladucky and Ryan Nagy, MD, and The Innova Group’s Phil DeBruzzi in a virtual panel discussion. The panelists will:

  • Identify the guiding principles for an academic medical center replacement hospital.
  • Explore a strategic business strategy for a 20-year planning window.
  • Explain this unique facility solution combining inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Identify the key performance metrics for a new academic medical center.

The one-hour discussion begins at 2:30 PM ET on June 3.

The International Summit & Exhibition on Health Facility Planning, Design & Construction (PDC Summit) bills itself as the premier event for healthcare and hospital facility senior leadership.
