Designing Neuroinclusion Laboratory Environments: Addressing Sensory Processing Needs of Neurodivergent Minds – Session 1

HOK’s Kay Sargent and Tim O’Connell will present at Tradeline Research Facilities 2025, speaking on neuroinclusive design for research environments.

The session will explore the findings of a recent study revealing that nearly half of lab workers identify as neurodivergent and how this data should inform decisions on lab design, which has historically been sterile and sensory-intensive. Additional discussion points will highlight the importance of neuroinclusive design in both new construction and renovations to create environments that enhance focus, innovation and well-being, while also fostering creativity, productivity and retention for the next generation of scientific innovators.

Join Kay and Tim’s presentation on April 10 at 11:10 AM ET.
