Designing for Belonging in Scientific Workplaces

HOK’s Virginia Byers and Erin Ezell will present a session at the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) 2025 conference on Designing for Belonging in Scientific Workplaces: Prioritizing Well-Being in Research and Innovation.

Virginia and Erin will explore how designing for belonging through enhanced research environments can promote overall well-being for researchers, staff and building guests. They will highlight two recently completed scientific workplace projects at Morgan State University and the UPMC Mercy Pavilion that show how design can support scientific needs while considering the physiological effects of the built environment.

Join the session on October 20 at 1:30 PM CT.
