HOK’s Jessica Collins and Kay Sargent join the American Society of Interior Designers’ (ASID) Gather Conference for a pop-up session on trauma-informed design.
Historically, little thought has been given to how design can reduce trauma and instill resiliency in people battling homelessness and behavioral health challenges. Fortunately, this is changing as more people recognize the importance of our surroundings on health and well-being.
This session will help participants gain insights into how to provide homeless shelters and other social service providers with design strategies that promote a safe, healing, and welcoming environment for vulnerable populations and those who serve them.
