Shiva Mendez & HOK Panel

Architecture + the City Festival

HOK’s Shiva Mendez will moderate a panel discussion with her San Francisco studio colleagues Beth Grote, Maggie Hua, Lauren Jordan, Ali Sedaqat, Rotimi Seriki, Xandr Stack and LiYan Yang on “Diversity in Practice: How Diversity and Inclusion Inform Design Thinking.” The event is part of the Architecture + the City Festival presented by AIA San Francisco and The Center for Architecture + Design.

Emerging design professionals from HOK’s San Francisco studio will share their perspectives and insights on living through a tranformational period in the AEC industry, as well as the challenges and opportunities they encounter in the practice of design. The speakers will discuss practical ways to incorporate cultural differences in design exchange and how to mitigate cross-cultural miscommunication.
