In collaboration with AIA Chicago, experts from HOK’s Healthcare practice will present successful planning and design strategies for infection control at three hospitals in Canada, the UK and Southeast Asia.
The lessons learned during the SARS outbreak in 2002 informed unique approaches to hospital design. These facilities have features designed to contain airborne infections, including instantaneous flexing from normal operations to pandemic treatment mode through spatial and mechanical system changes. This understanding is vital for responding to the current COVID-19 pandemic and preparing for future new infectious diseases.
The virtual event starts at 6 PM CT via Zoom. Registration is free.
