Paul Whitson, AIA, LEED GA, is a regional leader of HOK’s Healthcare practice.
Based in St. Louis, Paul has more than 25 years of professional experience in the planning and design of healthcare facilities including academic medical centers, ambulatory care facilties, cancer centers and sports medicine centers. As principal-in-charge for several significant projects, his design philosophy has focused on integrating the therapeutic process, patient comfort and provider effectiveness.
Paul’s experience includes all three major program areas in academic health centers. On the clinical side, he has worked at scales as small as individual physician practices all the way to tertiary care hospitals. For research programs, he has worked at the level of integrating new principal investigators into an academic health care enterprise up to developing state-of-the-art translational research programs. He has a strong understanding of the interdisciplinary, integrative and collaborative nature of medical and allied health education programs.
