Hugh Campbell AIA

Senior Medical Planner
“When you chart a hospital’s flow diagram, you realize how amazing they are. We call it the Seven Flows of Healthcare: medical staff, patients, families, medication, equipment, supplies and information. They all have to work together in a three-dimensional space.”

Hugh is a healthcare architect and programmer with over 35 years of experience leading planning teams for replacement hospitals, major additions, outpatient facilities and campus master planning. His specialties include hospital and academic medical center master planning and programming. Based in HOK’s Seattle studio, Hugh has planned many of the major children’s hospitals in the U.S. and abroad, with a strong focus on perioperative services and cancer centers.

As a Six Sigma Green Belt, Hugh is experienced in lean design principles and facilitating integrated healthcare design processes.
