A New Home for College Football’s National Champions

Clemson University
Allen N. Reeves Football Operations Complex

Clemson, South Carolina, USA

“This is the new standard in college football.”

Thad Turnipseed
Director of Football Recruiting and External Affairs, Clemson University

Designed to support the day-to-day activities of players, coaches and staff, the new Allen N. Reeves Football Operations Complex further elevates Clemson’s football program and promotes the recruitment, training and development of student-athletes.

The state-of-the-art building, designed by HOK and GMC, adjoins the indoor practice facility and outdoor practice fields, consolidating Clemson’s football operations into one complex. It is the largest, most programmatically inclusive football-specific training facility in the nation.

Knowing that this facility will serve as a home away from home for many players and coaches, the project provides unparalleled amenities that enable student-athletes to train, study and unwind. Features include 1.5 acres of outdoor leisure and entertainment space in addition to state-of-the-art training, weight equipment, technology and hydrotherapy. Additional amenities include miniature golf, bowling, a movie theater, gaming lounge, steam room, recovery room, Gatorade fuel bar, Nike gear room, championship display and basketball, volleyball and bocce ball courts.

The design maximizes adjacencies and functionality, creating a player concourse that allows coaches and athletes to move efficiently through their routines and better use their valuable practice and training time. A slide connects the concourse to the lobby, emphasizing head coach Dabo Swinney’s focus on fun. Compelling graphics and displays throughout the facility celebrate the team’s storied history and help communicate the football program’s focus on the future.

The project is targeting LEED Silver certification.
