This building bridges the original campus quadrangle with the new student services building. Its scale and materials acknowledge the competing styles while establishing a new campus aesthetic.
The facility houses the chemistry, geology, biology and physics/astronomy departments within the natural sciences program, and the nursing, respiratory, occupational therapy and dental hygiene departments within the health program. It contains classrooms, science and computer labs, lecture halls and offices.
Moveable seating and seat walls provide options for gathering and studying. A large, open grass area and a meandering vegetated filtration swale replace an abandoned road, enhancing the space’s natural beauty.
