The hospital development replaces existing Providence Care facilities that had been located on the St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital site and Mental Health Services site with a 270-bed facility that meets both the physical and mental healthcare needs of these patient populations in a non-institutional environment. The hospital accommodates all inpatient care, outpatient programs, diagnostic and therapeutic support, administrative, academic, research, and facilities management functions.
As planning and design consultant, HOK prepared the compliance documents issued to the public-private partnership (P3) entities. HOK led the medical planning, master plan review and site plan approval process and developed the project-specific output specifications (PSOS) describing how the hospital would be built and then operate. HOK also was the primary compliance agent for the hospital during the design-build-finance-maintain (DBFM) project delivery process.
