As part of the Greiner-Maunsell Airport Master Plan Consultancy selected by the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong, HOK was a planning and engineering consultant for the fast-track development of the new $2.1 billion international airport. HOK was responsible for all terminal-area components of the airport master plan.
HOK also served as the primary architect, providing overall planning and design of passenger terminals, concourses, rail and ferry terminals, as well as an administrative building, parking structures, cargo and support facilities.
One of the largest public works projects in Hong Kong’s history, Chek Lap Kok Airport is forecasted to handle an ultimate annual capacity of 80 million passengers by 2040.
