Avon's LEED Gold Headquarters

Avon North America Headquarters
New York, New York, USA

“There’s minimal cost to retrofitting and building green,
as long as you plan for it up front.”

This project renovated 12 floors of the 1950s 777 Third Avenue building with a LEED Gold design.

HOK’s design creates a contemporary space that promotes collaboration and Avon’s brand while reducing its environmental impact.

In addition to creating a beautiful, feminine and timeless environment, Avon asked HOK’s design team to create collaborative space and efficiencies that would cut occupancy costs.

For the open-plan environment, HOK worked with Avon to standardize a one-size workstation that would reduce the cost of moves while providing flexibility for future changes. Collaborative spaces include communal pantries, AV-equipped conference rooms and a Telepresence video conference facility that connects Avon associates worldwide. The headquarters also contains a jewelry design studio, photo studio, image room and company store.

At the time the project was completed, Avon was the only cosmetics company in New York with a LEED Gold office space. With a focus on FSC-certified wood, regionally sourced materials, energy efficiency and recycled content, Avon’s headquarters demonstrates its commitment to people and the environment.
