The headquarters, consisting of two office towers and a parking garage with rooftop sports courts, features informal meeting spaces, employee cafeteria, executive boardrooms and conference spaces, and a staff training center. To support work-life balance, the campus includes an on-site fitness center, medical and dental offices, and two credit union branches.
Our engineering team designed several features to improve efficiencies and reduce life-cycle costs. High-performance HVAC systems achieve ultra-energy efficiency while providing highly reliable operations, ease of maintenance and extreme flexibility. A chilled water plant features N+1 equipment with complete variable-speed operation configured in a manifold arrangement and regulated through hot-swappable controllers using sophisticated plant optimization software.
Office levels have raised access floors that are flexible to support Phillips 66’s changing space and technology needs over time. Our team designed a high-performance underfloor air distribution HVAC system that serves more than half a million square feet of offices.
An advanced building automation system integrates multiple building systems on a common platform across a shared network to effectively operate the facility.
Structural steel framing, including composite deck slabs and strategically located concentric-braced frames, accommodates the buildings’ open plans and provides future flexibility for the office towers. Our engineering team used post-tensioned, cast-place-concrete for the parking structure to support the additional requirements of the central utility plant, electrical vault and a net-enclosed sports court on the rooftop.
The connecting bridge between the office towers contains a series of two-story trusses. Our team used advanced analysis to eliminate the need for an expansion joint in the bridge between the towers. Drilled piers, mat slabs, spread footings and two-way structural slabs-on grade support the buildings while mitigating the highly expansive soil conditions.
