The new environment, in a recently constructed LEED Gold building, supports the company’s philosophy of innovation and collaboration, with a strong overarching customer focus. Developed through extensive design sessions with all employees, the space creates an engaging, sophisticated environment that reflects RSA Canada’s focus on the future while recognizing its 300-plus-year history.
The new space standards and planning principles reduce the number of enclosed offices, increase open office areas and accommodate easy reconfiguration for evolving workplace needs. Typical floors have interior offices and meeting rooms with glazed fronts, providing access to daylight for all occupants. Cafés on the north and south ends of the building promote interaction, while the corners of the floor provide space for team meetings.
A special client floor supports a wide range of gathering spaces and functions. The southwest end of the floor provides traditional meeting spaces, all accessible from a “sidewalk” that terminates at a town square-style breakout space designed for casual interaction. A catering kitchen, operable walls and “grazing” stations support the floor’s multi-functional nature.
The southeast end of the floor houses an employee lounge with food preparation and seating areas. Placing executive offices at the north end of this floor encourages leaders to interact with clients and staff.
Artifacts from RSA Canada’s history are strategically located throughout the office. Contrasting colors provide a fresh look for the company’s future.
