Metropolis Think Tank: How Space Fusion Is Reshaping the Workplace

On Dec. 6 HOK’s Los Angeles studio and Metropolis Magazine will host Think Tank 2018, an exploration of space fusion in the workplace.

As the lines between work, life, learning, and play continue to blur, design elements from previously distinct sectors are blending together. Through a design process called space fusion, hybridized typologies create sophisticated, cultured approaches to experiential environments. At HOK, this cross-pollination happens between hospitality, healthcare, sports, and science + technology design groups, while filtering into the workplace studio. By developing multidimensional and diverse work settings, companies provide more work-life balance for their employees while giving them another reason to stay. This discussion will explore how space fusion is helping to create optimal experiences for tomorrow’s workplace users.

Join Metropolis’ Avinash Rajagopal and HOK for a Think Tank discussion on Space Fusion: Reshaping the Workplace or view the Facebook Live stream on the Metropolis Magazine Facebook page on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m PT.

Panelists include Lisa Krutky Reed (pictured), senior associate and project manager in HOK’s Los Angeles studio; Kristin Christopher, human resources and recruitment manager at Respawn Entertainment/Electronic Arts; Ryan Smith, executive vice president—investments, Western US, at Hackman Capital Partners; and Brian Tolman vice president of design and construction at Convene.
